At Indigo Finance, we are passionate about people learning and growing within the team. We want to give something back to the world that contributes towards creating these opportunities for others.
In Australia we underestimate the level of schooling/education we have, how this has got us where we are today, and how lucky we are to have these opportunities for learning and development. This year, we are proud to contributing towards the Classrooms for Hope project in Indonesia, helping to give children in Indonesia safe place to study and grow.
Indonesia’s Lombok was jolted with devastating earthquakes in mid-2018, causing the deaths of more than 500 people, left hundreds injured, forced thousands of people to evacuate their homes and destroyed over 400 schools leaving young students learning in tents or temporary pop-up schools. There are still over 200 schools that need to be rebuilt. Classrooms for Hope builds earthquake resistant schools out of recycled plastic blocks. Each classroom removes 2-3 tons of plastic waste from the environment and can be built in as little as 8 hours.
For every property that we finance, at Indigo Finance, our way of giving back, is to help to build a classroom of hope – one recycled brick at a time! Help support us in our goal.
